Our partner in Thailand is waiting on funds to provide culinary training for survivors

An estimated 500,000 men, women, and children are trapped in Thailand’s sex industry driven by poverty, lack of education, domestic violence, gender inequality, and child abuse.

Our partner, Beginnings Foundation consistently builds relationships with the women and girls working in the red-light districts and provides women who desire to start a new life with a safe home, education, counseling, and a new way to provide financially for their families—an alternative to the sex trade.

Approximately…

  • 3,350 individuals from the red-light districts have attended Christmas parties held by Beginnings as a way to share the gospel and provide an opportunity to leave the sex industry

  • 670 have raised their hands to accept Christ

  • 1,450 have taken a Bible

  • 80 girls have been provided housing and education in the fourteen years since they opened

  • 65 of those 80 girls have made a decision for Christ.

2020 Needs | Culinary & Baking School Certification

In 2020, Beginnings is working to open a farm-to-table restaurant that will provide income to sustain their safe home and give education to the survivors. Poverty often leaves women and children with no other choice but to sell themselves to feed their family—this restaurant equips survivors to provide financially for their families.

Beginnings has acquired a restaurant location and has completed the construction of a restaurant-grade kitchen. However, in order to begin offering culinary training facilitated by a Cordon Bleu-trained and certified chef, they need to be government-certified. This year, Freedom 4/24 is partnering with Beginnings Foundation to help cover the costs of the certification so they can start running the restaurant and help end the cycle of sexual slavery in Thailand.
